Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Illinois Capital Region
Montgomery County Branch
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Illinois Capital Region, Montgomery County Branch opened in Litchfield, Illinois, in October 2006. Program Director, Lisa Rakey, began running the school-based and community-based mentoring programs in Litchfield and Hillsboro in January 2007.
The Montgomery County branch continues to grow as more children are being matched with mentors. The annual Bowl For Kids' Sake fundraiser helps keep the office open and recruit and screen new volunteer mentors to be matched with the children in Montgomery County who need a positve role model in their lives.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Illinois Capital Region offers one-to-one mentoring relationships to children who have been referred to us, either by a parent or a teacher. We serve children in Sangamon, Christian and Montgomery Counties through both the Community-Based and Site-Based Mentoring programs.
