Through a simple friendship, volunteers experience the joy of helping children discover a world of possibilities and opportunities. Adult volunteers (Bigs) are matched one-on-one with children (Littles) ages 5-14. Bigs serve as mentors, friends and positive examples to the children and youths in our community. Bigs and Littles experience new activities and interests together by going out into the community or hanging out at home. During these outings, Bigs and Littles cultivate relationships that provide the children with skills to manage everyday challenges.
Matches typically get together 2-4 times a month and spend an average of 10-14 hours together each month for a minimum of one year. All the volunteers are carefully screened, trained and supervised by our agency.
Experience the joy and fun of spending time with a child—together! A couple match is a great way to have the entire family involved in giving back to the community. The time commitment is the same as for a Big Brother or Big Sister.
